Privacy Policy
Riffleboard is run by Mizznes BV, Ransuildreef 16, 2900 Schoten, Belgium, company number 1026.527.343. That company is the data controller for everything below, and contact@riffleboard.com is where to write about any of it.
Riffleboard collects a random visitor ID (cookie), or a daily-rotating hash of your IP and browser if you have no cookie, to count unique clicks and ticket-earning actions.
When you enter a giveaway, we also collect your email address, to confirm your entry, prevent duplicate entries, and run the verifiable draw.
Nobody under 18 should be entering, and the box on the entry form says so. We don't ask for a date of birth, so that tick is all we have. If you tell us a child entered with their address, we'll delete the entry and the address.
We also record the country your entry came from, and the state if you're in the US, because some places aren't allowed to enter and we have to be able to show the rule was applied. Our host works that out from your connection. We don't store your IP address.
We don't give the listed company your email address. There's a box you can tick to say you're okay hearing from them, and we store that tick with your entry, but nothing sends anything anywhere. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it does, and it will still only be about people who ticked the box.
We do not track whether you become a customer of any listed company, and we don't claim to.
How long we keep things
An entry you never confirmed is deleted 30 days after you made it. The confirmation link dies after 48 hours, so after that there's nothing an unconfirmed entry can turn into.
A confirmed entry keeps your email address until six months after the round closes. Then the address goes, along with the key we derive from it and the visitor ID it was made with. If you won, we keep the address for twelve months instead: a licence key can turn out to be a dud months later.
What's left after that is the entry itself. Its id, how many tickets it held, the country and state code it was accepted under, which version of the rules you agreed to, and whether it won. The draw is published as a list of entry ids and ticket counts so that anyone can recompute it, so those have to stay. Once the address is gone we can't turn one of them back into a person, and we keep nothing on the side that would let us.
The random ID we count you with sits in a cookie in your browser for a year. Where it's written down next to a click or a visit, we strip it 13 months after the round closes, one month past the longest that cookie can live. The count stays, the ID doesn't.
Prize keys and discount codes a company left with us and nobody ever received are deleted 90 days after the round closes. A code that did reach somebody keeps its encrypted value for twelve months, in case they lose the email, and after that we keep only the record that a code went out and when.
Your record of agreeing to the rules is kept for ten years after the round it covered. That's how long somebody can still bring a claim about an agreement here, and it's the whole reason to have the record at all.
A company's file runs on a different clock. Its contact address, what it agreed to, its invoices and its payments are kept for at least seven years from the end of the year the money moved, because the bookkeeping rules say so and we don't get to shorten that. An application we turned down is deleted twelve months after the decision.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time at contact@riffleboard.com, and you don't have to wait for any of the dates above. Since your address never went to a company, deleting it with us is the whole of it. The exception is anything the law makes us keep, like an invoice, and we'll tell you if that's what you've asked about.
